11/1/2022 0 Comments Naruto storm it feels good![]() ![]() Naruto’s setting always had an air of vague mysticism with all the unexplained scrolls, chakra, spiritual beings, and so on. For example, Korra Season 2 and the Ending choices in Naruto created more problems by getting rid of all the mystique of their respective cosmogonies. I am personally not a huge fan of “mythos” being deeply explored or inserted into the plotline directly unless the story was going for that the entire time. Speaking of which, In my opinion, the sage of six paths and his children should have remained “mythos”. Sure, various otsutsuki were introduced to match them but I hate the whole alien plotline, to be honest. I liked how Naruto and Sasuke, while still top dogs in the setting, weren't presented as the untouchable forces they became thanks to the 6-paths powers. The Storm games have a lot of narrative and power scaling implications that sometimes work better than the actual events in the manga/anime. Madara's cool but he did not belong in this story. Lastly, Madara losing to the Gokage (I'm so sorry for how hot this take will sound) stops him from injecting himself into the narrative. Madara, Obito and Naruto only being at the level of the Gokage respects their status in the world and keeps the power ceiling levelled. If this had to be a real ending, I argue it would have been the most thematical, climactic battle to have the ultimate fight be against Obito, in a one on one to decide the outcome of the war. Madara lost to the Gokage, remaining thematically consistent with the message that the new generation has to handle the burdens of the old generation it's not their fight to win.Ĭool characters were left in the past, and weren't upheaved. While there's story writing potential in Kakashi and Obito, and further closure to be found with Sasuke and Naruto, I would prefer an unfinished story with a thematic ending to a butchered and bloated narrative. Aside from the extra lore additions and weird retcons (like the aforementioned), a good portion of it had been complete. Storm 3 ended at the KCM2 point by this point a huge chunk of the narrative threads and core story beats had been fulfilled. The war did not deserve to be as long as it did. Storm 3's ending was unfinished and lazy, but I strongly argue it's superiority It shat on the believable cynicism that filled the world, and saw Naruto forget Nagato's message, and create peace by just fist bumping people and making friends. Naruto's war arc had awful lore changes like the addition of Kaguya, Asura and Indra, and actively destroyed the power ceiling which had been shockingly consistent throughout the run of the show. I was unable to gather sufficient conversation on this elsewhere, so laconically ![]()
